Conference Call August 18, 2008

Tonights conference call was quite informative with several questions relating to practice. The "30 second rule" seems to be a big hit for those that are sometimes too busy to practice in the morning before work. Everyone is preparing for Clinic 3: Relaxation the Door to Meditation. Our November conference call date will be changed and all participants will be notified. I look forward to reading all of your posts.

Clinic 2

We just finished Clinic 2 - Science of Breath in both the Pennsylvania and California location. The clinic provided foundation information focusing on breathing practices. Both groups were in great spirits and enthusiastic about continuing.

May Conference Call

Last nights conference call started with our discussing the ANCC accredidation. This accreditation means that the Meditation Specialist Certification program was peer-reviewed by a panel of nursing experts and met national statndards for continuing nursing education at an additional level. It is listed on the ANCC's website at the link (http://www.nursecredentialing.org/accred/competency/index.htm

For information about the competency program, go to http://www.nursecredentialing.org/accred/compentency/index/htm.

Conference Call Monday Night

Monday nights conference call was met with much enthusiasm as we all heard what experiences those in the group are having with their meditation. We bagan the call discussing the meditation specialists code of eithics followed by getting listed in the directory.

Many shared their initial experiencs at the Pennsylvania clinic.

Our next call is scheduled for May 19th, 2008 at 9PM.

Meditation Specialst Class of 09 Begins

I just returned from our first clinic in Pennsylvania for the class of 2009. All participants were enthusiastic and came with alot of personal experience. The pace of this clinic was steady as we reviewed seated poses as well as the begining of breathing. Many commented on how energized they felt after the 4 days. We will be meeting again during the first week of June.

Class Pictures

We just received some of the class pictures for the graduating class 2008. Take a look.

Graduating Class 2008

Congratulations to all the students who successfully completed the meditation specialist certification training. Our last clinic was a mix of work and play. Each morning we enjoyed the yoga classes followed by the wonderful breakfasts. This clinic served to bring students to the next level and refine their practices that they began during the year. The final exam was a challenge for most, but overall everyone did well. The plan is to provide Level 2 training as an experiential training which will begin sometime in the fall. Details will follow later in the year.

Meditation Enlightenment

Do you believe in Predestination? How about Karma or maybe just old fashion Luck? From the moment we are conceived do you think our life is going to be lived like an unfolding story? Do we really make our own choices or are we all actually pulled in one direction or another by something else such as a force or some intuitive instinct deep inside of us? Of course we all want to believe that we actually make our own choices because why bother reasoning things out otherwise, but who really knows for sure?

Conference Call February 11

Last night our conference call was very interactive with participants sharing their teaching experiences with the group. We clarified the breathing practices as to how they may change when teaching novices as well as those familiar with training. We were grateful to those certified contributing to the call as well as those getting ready to graduate. Students from clinic 1 also attended contributing their experiences to the discussions. The agenda was determined by input from participants. Our next call is April 21st at 9PM EST.

Final Papers Received for Certification

The final papers are coming in and I am delighted to read each one. Some participants have granted me permission to post them. I hope you enjoy some of the stories about their personal journeys.
